InterContinental Fiji

Arriving to the InterContinental Fiji, I felt like a Polynesian princess, greeted warmly with warm smiles paired with the traditional Fijian greeting,"Bula!" from all directions!
I was immediately draped in gorgeous hand beaded shell necklaces lovingly placed over my neck and I knew we were in for an amazing stay...

The entrance was airy and bathed in late afternoon sunlight. We were carted to our quarters, an enormous multi roomed open floored and minimalist suite facing the lagoon. I slid open the glass doors to find billowing curtains and a massive romantic 2 person white Cleopatra bathtub on the patio!

Down a small path towards the water sat a private thatched roof cabana and I immediately realized how single I was. Luckily, I had the gorgeous Daniel to experience this honeymooner's dream with and naturally proceeded to pretended he was my husband for the rest of the stay (and my life)...

After an incredibly comfortable night's sleep we headed to breakfast at Navo. We indulged in warm cappuccinos and delicious omelettes before we stepped directly off of the patio into the panorama of the beach that had graced our breakfast view!

The ocean was warm and revealed winking sandbars and an endless supply of shells fit for a gift shop. We walked up and down the beautiful white sand admiring the tide pools until we came to the infinity edge of our favorite resort pool and decided to have a dip.

After we worked on our tans poolside, we absolutely had to see the spa.
We were deeply impressed with the modern take on traditional Fijian architecture and elegance. The use of water features was especially calming and the massage suites were completely dreamy. Fresh flowers EVERYWHERE not only in the spa but throughout the entire resort were also magical and the gardens and grounds were immaculately kept.

It was a special treat to also tour the luxurious upper deck of the resort reserved for Club InterContinental guests only. There we found a gorgeous infinity edge pool lined with avant garde bird nest lounge pods. The rooms were fantastic and their accompanying plunge pools looked all too tempting. We sipped on sweet mango nectar and took in the view from the top!

My absolute favorite part about the Intercontinental was not the pristine views, luxurious accommodations, or even the phenomenal service. It was the fact that this hotel was so in tune with it's local culture and the people who make Fiji such a magical place.

They even offer tours and experiences to dive into local projects like visiting a school, touring a nearby village, and cooking classes. You can read more about each individual community involvement expedition here

Thank you so much for hosting Daniel and I at your beautiful property. We enjoyed every moment of our comfortable stay!
